Benjamin Krug is from Royal Oak, Michigan. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a B.M. in Cello Performance in 2004. His mentors and teachers there included Dr. David Carter (cellist) and Steven Amundson (conductor).
Benjamin also attended the American Boychoir School in Princeton, NJ where as a vocalist he had the opportunity to tour all over the U.S., Canada, Guatemala, Europe, and Japan. Other highlights included performing with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, and Cleveland Orchestra.
Benjamin went on to the Cleveland Institute of Music to do graduate work with Mr. Stephen Geber, former Principal of the Cleveland Orchestra, earning his Masters in Cello Performance in 2006 and a Professional Studies Diploma in 2008.
Benjamin has participated in a variety of summer music programs including the Kent Blossom Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Tanglewood Music Festival. During his graduate studies in Cleveland, he was a member of the Akron and Canton Symphonies.
